The Breakup Support GroupThe Breakup Support Group
by Cheyanne Young
Genre: Romance
Age category: Young Adult

Blurb:
After four years of first love bliss, Isla Rush just got dumped. Any hope she has of winning her ex-boyfriend back is shattered when the town rezones her neighborhood, forcing her to spend senior year at a wealthy high school in the next town over. With a broken heart consuming her soul, Isla can’t focus on anything in class. Hell, she can barely get out of bed each morning. Her new school has too many confusing hallways, unfriendly faces, and Emory Underwood—a ridiculously hot guy who dates a new girl almost every day. She can’t help but crush on him, even though she knows it’s wrong.

When memories of her ex make her cry in second period, the school counselor sends Isla to a club that meets during lunch. The Breakup Support Group is a collection of broken-hearted misfits who are all trying to help each other heal. For the first time since her break up, Isla’s heart is on the mend now that she has the support group. Then Emory shows up, forced to atone for all the broken hearts he’s caused over the years. While hiding her massive crush, she helps him understand the seriousness of breaking a heart and he helps her get back on the dating scene.

Part of her peer-prescribed therapy is to learn the art of dating around. Emory offers to be her fake date for the homecoming dance, and she’s happy to accept. He’s just a crush, after all—she can handle a night of playing pretend. When the date ends with a toe-curling kiss on her front porch, all of her well-placed boundaries come crumbling down. After months of therapy, the pieces of her heart are finally healed. And now she just handed it over to a guy who only knows how to break them.

Isla is starting a new high school her senior year.  She has also just gotten dumped by her jerk boyfriend after 4 years.  Life cannot get much worse.  After having a few breakdowns in class, her guidance councilor suggest that she try The Breakup Support Group. Sitting around listening to a bunch of strangers will not help her get over the love of her life?  Or will it?  There is also the handsome Emory who seems to be there every time she turns around.  Will Isla finally open up to the group or spend her senior year miserable and heartbroken?

This is just the book that I needed to pull me out of my reading slump.  A fun and quick read about first love and what happens after.  The Breakup Support Group is a new and fun concept to YA literature.  How many of us wish we had this kind of support group when we were in high school?  The characters are well written and very likable.  Isla is such a strong character who needs a little help with all the changes going on in her life.  Emory is a wonderful friend who may want more.  Cheyanne Young did a really wonderful job writing this book and developing the characters.  This is a fun quick read that you should read now!

Because I loved this book so much and I know you will to, I am giving away a Kindle copy of The Breakup Support Group.
